The Minerals, Lands and Policy Division promotes mineral exploration and development by maintaining a geoscience database, and administering the disposition of metallic and industrial mineral claims on Crown lands.

The Saskatchewan Ministry of the Economy also manages its mineral resources through the administration of royalty and tax systems, and collecting and maintaining production and sales information.

This section contains information about the administration of mineral permits, claims and leases.

This program implements the process for the long term management of decommissioned mine/mill properties on Crown land once a site owner has ended mining/milling activities, completed decommissioning and reclamation and makes application to transfer the remediated site into provincial custody.

As of November 30, 2010, notices regarding areas of Crown minerals or Crown mineral lands that have been withdrawn from, or re-opened to, mineral dispositioning will be published here.

The Saskatchewan Mineral Exploration Tax Credit offers a non-refundable 10% tax credit to Saskatchewan taxpayers who invest in eligible flow-through shares issued by mining or exploration companies.
