Petroleum and Natural Gas Development

Ed Dancsok, P.Eng., P.Geo., is Assistant Deputy Minister, Senior Strategic Lead for Oil and Natural Gas Development, in Saskatchewan’s Ministry of the Economy. In the role of Senior Strategic Lead, Ed leads a cross-ministry team responsible for formulating and executing petroleum and natural gas development opportunities in Saskatchewan.

A member of the Ministry of the Economy’s Executive Management Team, Ed has spent his entire 34-year career in various roles in the Petroleum and Natural Gas Division, from reservoir engineering to resource assessment through to tenure and regulatory policy development and division head.  He has co-authored a number of technical papers dealing with the petroleum potential of deeper horizons in the Williston Basin of central North America.

Ed received a Bachelor of Science degree in Geological Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan in 1982 and serves on numerous regulatory and steering committees including past chair of the Canadian Energy Resources Committee, the executive committee of the Western Regulators Forum and the national advisory committee for the Canadian Pipeline Technology Collaborative.
